wear American garb? If I recall correctly, didn't the video tapes at the airports show them wearing things like pants and polo shirts?

Not only that, if a terrorist were going to wear some sort of garb, don't idiots like Juan Williams' think the person would wear clothing or such in a manner as to mix in with the environment and attire of people so as not to raise suspicion?

1. What has reason got to do with it?
After all, the issue isn't effective tactics for terrorists, it's rather scapegoating "the other" in the scummiest way possible.

2. Yes.
I believe Bush and Cheney did wear American looking clothes on 9/11.

3. They were dressed like what they were: low and mid-level intelligence operatives

"Business casual" - open neck blue and white shirts, dockers. They looked like IT help desk guys who enjoyed lap dances and rum drinks, not madrasa students.

5. 9/11 attack was planned out in a condo next to a golf course while the CIA watched, not in a cave.

11. Glad you got it. It's amazing how many aren't or don't want to be aware of the major outlines -
even the CIA openly admits that the Agency knew who and what was coming and warned Dubya, Condi and others many times. See the CIA IG Inspector's Report: https://www.cia.gov/library/reports/Executive%20Summary_OIG%20Report.pdf

12. I'm sure Cheney/shrub were just fine with it - they needed a reason to invade Iraq.
Convenient, eh?

The one that cracked me up was Condi saying "Nobody would ever expect a plane to be used as a weapon." Among OTHER things were the two SuperMan episodes from the 40's - "The Japateurs" where they steal the huge plane is one, but more specifically is "The Bullet Plane" - all it DID was smash through buildings to blow them up. Memo from August aside, her statement was just fucking stupid.

7. Well, that's if you apply "logic" and "reason" to the fearmongering, so you're doing it wrong
You're not supposed to analyze or think about fear when it's being mongered, you're supposed to be afraid.

:sarcasm:

13. And with Sharron Angle in the mix
Who are we supposed to be afraid of? Hispanics who look like Asians? Asians who are Asians or Asians who are Middle Eastern? And what if the Middle Eastern looking are Christians? Or what if they're not Christian but wear crosses to confuse us? What if we are afraid of Asians who are really Hispanic? Can we get our fear back and reallocate it? And then, of course, any of these Hispanics, Asians, Middle Eastern looking people could be Americans born and bred in Plano. Then what? And how are you supposed to feel if you're at a gas station and bearded Harley riders pour in? Are they Hell's Angels or just a bunch of middle aged guys with fake grey pony tails? Frankly, I think we have the most to fear from Angle, O'Donnell, Paul, O'Reilly and Beck - all white folks. They scare me more than any of those others. Okay, well maybe Angle is an Asian - I saw that video on the internet, so it must be true - so I would have to fear her for other reasons. More important that fearing all these folks, it's important that we hate them. Because that's a particularly productive use of our time and energy.
