Kudos to Nancy Pelosi and I mean Kudos!!! Defends Obama Adm |
|
Policies and did it very well. Last evening on Charlie Rose, Speaker Pelosi came armed and ready. When Charlie tried to change the subject, "just a minute, let me finish. or Charlie it is very important that I exaplain this.
From Tarp(Bush Adm) up through Health Care the Speaker of the House laid out the Administration Policies with good explanations.
She admitted they fell down on getting out and selling them which as we know permitted the GOP to give a very distorted view of every policy.
She also explained what is driving the COC and their support of Republican Candidates. The different business want Health Care repealed. Wall Street and Financial Industry want all the reforms for Finacial Industry Repealed. In other words Businesses and Wall Street want to go back to their same old ways with very little to no regulation. They are pushing Republican Candidates hoping enough GOP members win to repeal everything.
Charlie Rose is repeated on Bloomber at 8:00 and 10:pm. Check Bloomberg at these times. It is worth the watch.
My only regreat is that it was not earlier.
Charlie Rose was a good format for Nancy because she could accurately explain things.

5. Can you imagine getting anything at all done whilst attempting to prosecute? |
|
I was on the "hang 'em high" bandwagon in the beginning, but seeing how much obstruction is being thrown in the way of real work now, I can't imagine this administration being able to move a muscle in any direction with the courts clogged with BushCo and his war criminal cronies.
It's not good... they should be held accountable, but there's too much that needs done right now.

Wow, your missing the 800 lb guerilla in the room. When republicans are allowed to get away with war crimes and other high crimes, the next time they get power that sort of behavior becomes the BASELINE. It GUARANTEES that the next republican who comes into office, and there will be more republican presidents, will be WORSE than the previous because there is NO PRICE TO PAY for their crimes. Basically it says, 'you can do anything and get away with it if you are a republican president.'
Why are republicans given impunity when they have the presidency?
Because nobody is willing to stop them.

7. I agree with you on this. |

The crimes WILL be repeated by the GOP because the Democrats have given their tacit approval by turning a blind eye. IMO the lack of prosecution is this administration's biggest and most far-reaching mistake.

8. Yeah, I used to say those exact things... I didn't miss anything... |
|
It can be done by other means. Yes, ultimately I do believe that BushCo should be held accountable and serve hard time for their transgressions and outright treason against the USA and her people. No question. There's no time for that now; that's what you are missing.
With all politicians under the microscope as they are right now, it would be very difficult for someone to get away with what BushCo got away with. We're seeing the bright, hot, white light of truth being shined on many, as it should be. I'm sitting here in Los Angeles with a bird's eye view of what's going down in the City of Bell, and watching it spread to Vernon, and to Hawaiian Gardens, and ultimately it will get to Long Beach... everywhere there is political corruption. We're seeing the RW lies coming from inside and outside Congress, and they are being shot down as lies. How far do you think the Obama administration would get proposing war based on drawings and vials of simulated poison? Pft. Not happening. It won't happen again, that's my bet. We've seen the man behind the curtain and there's no going back to Oz.

9. "With all politicians under the microscope as they are right now" |

Republicans don't care about bad press; in fact they relish it. Right now the republicans are being complete assholes, despite being "under the microscope as they are right now".
When the republicans get back into power, there will be no more microscope; it will go away and they will once again have impunity. This is because the Democrats are too cowardly in the short term to fix a problem that will be a DISASTER in the long term.
The Democrats will be just as guilty when the next republican administration turns out worse than the last one.

But you're right--if she'd invested time in publicly rebutting her rethug counterpart every time he opened his dumb trap, she wouldn't have to be scrambling now.
