I kind of want to contribute during the NPR fund drive now. |
|
But I'm kind of concerned that they'll somehow back down from their decision to fire Williams and, worse, go even more overboard in their often ridiculous attempts to seem "balanced."
And, I'm also starting to wonder if this isn't just some kind of fund raising ploy.

1. There's no way it went down as reported. |
|
Juan signs a deal with FOX the same day he's fired? I'm not buying it.

2. I'm still contributing to NPR. |
|
They did a great job reporting on the derelict doctors shilling for Big Pharma, and this morning they ran an excellent story on fertilizer runoff (and soil erosion) in the upper midwest contributing to the Dead Zone in the Gulf --
I don't have a TV, and I don't know if the M$M is doing this sort of thing?

6. I read somewhere that NPR and ProPublica worked together to |
|
bring that story to the public.
I missed today's segment but heard the one they ran yesterday.
Somebody certainly did something right, fact-checking and publicizing this shameful behavior of Big Pharma (AND the doctors).

3. I was thinking about donating too |
|
Supposedly they have some deal where they are going to donate locally to Good Shepherd Food Bank if you donate to them (Maine Public Radio). I want to find out more about it, but that sounds like a good deal, especially since I was also considering donating to that particular food bank for Thanksgiving.

8. Yes - they are doing the same partnership with a food bank in my area as well. |

Now we can barely listen to the morning show, and often turn it off during their extremely biased election coverage. Bush stocked the CPB with right wing shills, and their influence over the reporting is clear as day. NPR election coverage may as well be a subset of Fox News, and they won't see a red cent from me until utterly unprofessional propagandists like Mara Liasson and Cokie Roberts get the heave ho. It's turned into a fucking disgrace. I will not fund NPR national under any circumstances, even if my local station is alright.

7. I totally agree - the real NPR died during the Bush years |
|
and what is left is a shell filled up with shills like Cokie Roberts. I stopped giving them money under George Bush and stopped listening to them and don't miss them a bit.
