But yeah, Sestak should have come out swinging a 3-ball mace from day one. I couldn't believe he won the primary (and didn't vote for him then because I thought he was a questionable contender because of his demeanor).

Toomey is an obvious "no" - he's just a Santorum lite with multiple forehead wrinkles. On the plus side, Toomey actually LIVES in PA.

6. Joe Sestak is just terrific and he really means what he

says about being a public servant.

His District offices are open 7 days a week to assist constituents with problems with the VA, Social Security, Medicare, and whatever. No other Congressman in Pennsylvania and few in other states have 7 days a week constituent service. He really means what he says about being a public servant.

I've also heard him speak to small groups of volunteers (for the record, this is his third campaign I have volunteered for but I am not and have not been a paid staffer) about issues.
My favorite is what he has said about health care which goes something like this -
I spent 31 years in the Navy - I thought everyone had health care because you couldn't function if your sailors were sick and you didn't want them worrying whether their families had health care when they were deployed because it would interfere with the ship's function if everyone wasn't 100%.

Then he heard that everyone having health care was socialism - he didn't know that the military was socialistic - he just thought it made sense for everyone to be as healthy as possible for the job they had to do.

Joe is going to make an outstanding Senator from Pennsylvania and an independent thinker who will try to find pragmatic nonideologic solutions.
