WOW. Letterman just let Rudy get away with blaming Iraq on CLINTON. |
|
Dave didn't bat an eye. Just did his cut to commercial after Rudy essentially blamed the entire Iraq debacle on Clinton. This, after giving Rudy five minutes to spout "9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11."
I'm just stunned. WTF was that I just saw?

like the Democrats. How much has Bush added to the National debt, three trillion?
Dave let him get away with that one too.

Who had been president for eight months by that time? And who spent a month on vacation just before that with a memo titled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike Inside U.S." sitting on his desk? And who had just 21 months before that completely thwarted any and all attacks for the new millennium?
Don't cheat, but the answers are below:
Bush Bush Clinton
Wanna run that by us again, Mr. Giuliani?

Look, I've loved Letterman since the olden days of his morning show. Really...he usually kicks ass when some schmoe pulls this kind of bullshit. But he sat there and said nothing, did nothing but drool over Rudy's greatness. I'm soooooo disappointed. I'm not sure I can ever watch the show the same way again, knowing what a tool shill Letterman can be.

McCain is more of a personal whore who sold himself out.
but Giuliani is a user of other people. he uses 9/11 and the victims of it to benefit himself politically.
actually, Giuliani is a lot like Bush in this way. i think they are the shittest bunch of scumbags around.

No defense for the letting Ghouliani spew his crap, but is he really fooling anyone? Now really. The more he spews the bigger a cartoon he becomes. Just look at the trashing he gets on the right wing boards...his "support" is an mile wide and a milimeter thick. If anything, the more Rudy gets put in a national spotlight, not a New York one, he sounds like a complete fool...and Dave just letting him spew might not be such a bad thing.
Rudy did show up on a couple important Letterman shows...including the emotional one follow 9/11 and after his heart attack. While Rudy's politics rank with Atilla the Hun and his personal life is as dysfunctional as they come (Smigel nailed him good on SNL...check out the TV Funhouse bit), Rudy is a likeable guy.
Again...shall we remind ourselves that Dave, like the Daily Show, is a Comedy/Entertainment show...not a "News" show...it's supposed to be played for laughs...and boy can we use those these days.

17. It sounds as if you think Letterman is using "Art of War" as guide for being a |

talk show host.
I need to watch the DVR of this interview. However, my experience has taught me that DU'ers make a pretty accurate call on the corporomedia's machinations.
And David Letterman lives the life of a corporomediast. MKJ

19. Nice Attempt At Projecting My Opinions |
|
Too bad it didn't include anything I posted above...but that's ok.
Letterman spoke out against this regime when it was "uncool" for the corporate media and "conventional wisdom" said it was...and gave platforms to Democrats such as Howard Dean, Al Gore and many others when they couldn't buy their way on many shows. Also, his trashing of O'Reilly is classic.
Now WTF is a "corporomediast"? Clever term...you may need to get it copyrighted.
Again, Letterman is a comedian...and entertainer. I would sure hope we don't have to rely on him to be the arbeiter of the truth or as a replacement for a "news media" and beltway elite that is a problem we both can easily agree upon.
Cheers...
