60plus.org is sending me their cattlecrap.
The most recent mailing stated:

The Social Security Trust Fund is being raided EVERY DAY by Congress and Barack Obama to fund irresponsible
spending and boondoggles like pork-barrel giveaways, "Obamacare", stimulus, and bailout schemes.
<snip>
And the consequences will be a bankrupt Social Security Trust Fund and a bankrupt America!

Then they go on about how my local congressman, a Democrat, has contributed to this "endless" raid
on the Trust Fund and our nation's growing fiscal crisis by voting for wasteful federal spending like Barack Obama's
"disastrous" and failed "stimulus boondoggle".

Anyone else get this?
I wrote them a note and emailed it:
Stop sending me your lies. I just have to laugh at the ignorance you are trying to promote to the American people who deserve and demand the truth. But seriously...

President Obama is not raiding the Social Security Trust Fund for his Health Care Reform Plan, the quite successful stimulus plan, nor the bail outs which were neccesitated by the blatant fiscal irresponsiblilty of the Bush administration.

Athough not perfect (I would have been happier with Medicare for all or universal health care) the Health Care Reform plan opens many new important doors for consumers, such as not having coverage dropped when you are sick and not covering you for pre-existing conditions. Otherwise, if you are happy with your health care plan, nothing will change. Just kep paying those premiums! This law was passed so that the poor among us will also be able to get health coverage.

The Congressional Budget Office stated in the last couple weeks that the stimulus was successful and cost less than expected.
You ought to tell the Republic Governors to stand by their word. Publicly, they deride to stimulus, but quietly they have taken the funds because their states need it. The stimulus has resulted in many jobs being formed. Not enough yet, but many people benefitted from the stimulus.

The bail outs were put in place by the Bush administration, if you haven't heard. And the government has gotten nearly all the TARP money back. It stopped our financial institutions form totally melting down and saved 2 of America's automotive industries from going out of business, which would have resulted in more job losses and more cars being imported.

You people, believing the Republics lies, distort the truth and if it weren't for your distortions and lies, you would have nothing.
I am voting the Democratic ticket this year as well, because there is a lot of work that still needs to get done.
The Republics are just a bunch of no idea obstructionist corporate liars as far as I am concerned.
Yeah, this includes you and your organisation.

Take me off your list!

2. The social security fund was fine til Reagan started raiding it
to balance his budget, because he cut the taxes of the rich. Remember. Tell them that. And go on line and read the articles so you can tell them all about it.

3. PS the posted on CNN that Bush said one thing he
regretted is that he didn't fix social security. Yeah put it on wall street and how many of us would have any social security at all after all those 401K etcs were wiped out ours would have been also.
