Climate Change Doubt Is Tea Party Article of Faith
By JOHN M. BRODER
Published: October 20, 2010

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/21/us/politics/21climate.html?_r=2

“This so-called climate science is just ridiculous,” said Kelly Khuri, founder of the Clark County Tea Party Patriots. “I think it’s all cyclical.”

“Carbon regulation, cap and trade, it’s all just a money-control avenue,” Ms. Khuri added. “Some people say I’m extreme, but they said the John Birch Society was extreme, too.”

Hey lady: The John Birch Society IS extreme. It was started by people who didn't think we'd quite had enough of McCarthyism.

The way these people can just outright dent science is just crazy. Theres one asshole in that article who really thinks Rushbo is smarter than the climate scientists, lol.

1. Well she sure nailed it. I'm one of those people she
references who thinks the John Birch Society is extreme.

Guilty as charged.

3. And the JBS only became what they are because of desegregation.
All of the racist rushed to join them....the Communist in schools and government were those that supported civil rights so they fit well with the racist.

5. Exactly, baggers are nothing new
They are the same crowd as the birchers, and to a great degree the birthers. I'd bet you'd find alot of crossover with the whole militia bunch from the late '80s and '90s. It's the same bunch that is forever talking about "secret FEMA camps" and how the government is getting ready to impose martial law.

12. Don't even get me started on Alex Jones and his brand of "investigative journalism" lol...

One guy sent me one of his videos about the "super-secret FEMA camps". In this video, Jones and his crew were in a truck filming around some seemingly random construction site. Someone comes out and asks the Jones crew what they're doing, tells them to leave the area and then a chase ensues... OMG teh NWO conspiracies are validated!!!11!1!11

I asked the guy what he would do if he were Foreman of a construction site and he saw some dudes were creeping up in a truck, snooping around taking pictures and video, claiming to be press but then spouting off conspiracy theories. Wouldn't you be just a little bit suspicious that they were really looking for some copper pipes or some lumber to steal, and if you had those suspicions, wouldn't you run them off?

That pretty much shut him up... LOL

Edited on Fri Oct-22-10 07:40 AM by wolfgirl
this election doesn't matter - just look at these yahoos and ponder the future with them in charge!

VOTE!!!! Take your family and friends to the polls and VOTE!!!!

The thought of any of these lunatic GOP/TP'ers holding any official position of power scares the s**t out of me.

If any of them get elected, these loons will see this as a mandate and 2012 will be awful!

GO VOTE!!!!
