Robocalls from Republicans |
|
Last night, I arrived home from work and checked the answering machine. There was a message left by James Dobson regarding voting, and it gave some gibberish about "National Marriage Project". I was irate and deleted the message.
I tried calling the number from the caller ID and the message for the number indicates that the "mailbox is full". Yeah, right!
About a month ago, I got a robo call from Michelle Bachman. Tried calling THAT number back, and got the same thing. So I called her office and after several minutes of arguing with them before they realized that I was dead serious, I finally made them take a message to have my name and telephone number removed.
After working all day long with a bunch of Republicans, the LAST thing I want when I enter the sanctuary of my home, is to have Republican ideals being spouted at me from my own answering machine.
Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone else got any creative ideas to deter this kind of thing? (And yes, of course, I am on the Do Not Call List - which is of no value for these types of calls).

1. I get calls all the time |
|
from Linda McMahon inviting me to a live Town Hall Phone Conference. I enjoy swearing at the phone and leave it off the hook until the message hangs up because it keeps at least one line from calling someone else.

When you get a call and you are home, answer the call. Let it play out to the bitter end and then some. It delays the loop being played again to someone else who may be more persuaded by that crap. Sometimes I even share a bit of inappropriate language with the robo....
