Clarence Thomas was a serial harasser of women - rounding out history for our younger DUers
The most comprehensive editorial on the subject of Virginia Thomas's inappropriate and harassing call to Anita Hill is one written by Ann Woolner of Bloomberg News.

Ann reminds us of the people to whom Anita Hill complained about the sexual predator boss, and of another woman, Angela Wright, who came forward during the hearings. She chronicles Thomas's ongoing disgusting behavior, and ends the editorial by saying that Virginia's call to Anita Hill should have gone like this:

"Please consider my apology for what my husband did to you when you were at the EEOC when you came forward to tell the truth about him"
and
speaking of Virginia, if she were still speaking to her husband,
she would then proceed to tell him to either apologize to Hill, as well, or to get over it.

Here is the editorial with a photo of the author

2. Precisely correct.
I personally think a black man married to a white woman, both of them leading lights of the Republican party, have some severe mental kinks to begin with.

Add their respective personalities to the mix, and it gets really, really, really weird.

5. Great article.
Maybe this time even more people who know the truth will finally come forward.

Someone should do a mock hearing off how it should have gone. Instead of putting Anita on trial they will use her testimony for consideration of Thomas' character.

Next witness please.

7. I have a confession
During the Thomas confirmation hearings my personal life was in turmoil. I watched CNN when I could but, I wasn't politically aware of shit. Not that I know all that much now, but I'm getting there thanks to DU and the intertubes. I've always been a Democrat, Mom was a die hard FDR Democrat.

I wasn't sure what to believe. Part of me as a woman believed Anita, the other half believed that he was being screwed over because he's black. I'm white and naive as I may have been then, believed and still do that racism is alive in the US and at that time more undercover than it is now that Obama is President.

In retrospect, I am totally convinced beyond any doubt that Thomas is a scumbag and that Anita was telling the whole truth.

I remember listening to Arlen Specter, Alan Simpson, but, not Kennedy who could say nothing for obvious reasons. Damn that Simpson is a real pos. He was ruthless toward Anita.
