Is another shoe about to drop on Clarence Thomas?
First we have Ginny Thomas reopening the Anita Hill controversy - why?

Then this morning an old girlfriend of Clarence speaks out and basically supports Anita Hill's account. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=4584008&mesg_id=4584008

So the question is, did Ginny Thomas get wind of the old girlfriend's book and that is why she chose to raise the issue - OR - is another woman about to accuse Clarence of sexual harassment in the workplace - maybe at the SCOTUS? My thinking is that repeat offender sexual harassers do not usually change their stripes even when they have been burnt and burnt badly.

1. Hell, if they'll pay me enough, I'LL claim he wanted to have sex with me.
I've never met the guy, but so what?

I don't like him or his politics, and frankly I'm inclined to believe the women in this matter (other than his wife). Still, when an issue goes mainstream, there are opportunists who want that 15 minutes. It helps to keep a skeptical eye out.

2. I sort of think the same thing. Someone in his office at SCOTUS is
filing a complaint. Up until now perhaps they've been able to cover up his conduct but it's going to come out. Hopefully impeachment will be on the table. I'm still stunned with he and Scalia attending that private meeting...

7. If that is the case then the twit sleeping with Thomas should be cruicified publicly
every time she attempts to defend him.

3. If the charges were somehow proved
there might be calls for his resignation. And of course it would be wonderful if he resigned.

But Republicans would rush to his defense and would attack the women making the charges, proof or not. And Democratic leaders would put their tails between their legs and slink away.

5. It would take a lot more than a tell all book to get Thomas to leave...
I think his wife was involved in a little preemptive reputation scrubbing.

6. The only way to remove a SCOTUS justice is through
impeachment. Clarence Thomas could resign if things got ugly enough, I suppose, but I doubt he would. He can be impeached and convicted, if that's the will of Congress, but I doubt that will occur, either. It's a very tough road.

Our best bet is to see his personal image so far destroyed that he can see no alternative but resignation, or is harried into doing so by the other conservatives on the court. It is my hope that can happen.

8. Unfortunately he and Scalia are sociopaths with no shame
So I'm not holding my breath on a resignation.

9. Thomas will not resign except to avoid conviction after impeachment.
If it appears that the votes would be there to impeach him in the House and convict him in the Senate - meaning a lot of Republicans would have to declare their intention to vote against him - he would absolutely resign/retire to save his pension. I have no doubt about that. Likely he would suddenly realize that he wants to spend more time with Ginny.

13. There is another option -
he could resign, so he can run against Obama in 2012.

I would LOVE to see them in a debate.

20. I'm with you!
Wouldn't it be great for Obama to have another pick at a US Supreme Court justice! The justices here in my state of Washington also made inappropriate racial comments this week. What is going on?

15. Can you imagine if a liberal judge's wife were a political activist?
The right wing would be whining 24 hours a day if a liberal justice's spouse was like Thomas' wife. The main stream (corporate) media would be condemning it too. I'm so sick of the double standard.

12. Nothing will happen with Thomas
Except perhaps some chatter on MSNBC, CNN and progressive talk radio. It will be another he said/she said with RW defending him.

We're stuck with this jerk till he gets seriously ill or dies.

Id love to see Thomas forced off the SC and have Obama select a human being to replace him.

19. I believe Ginny/Clarence Thomas made the call to pre empt the McEwen information.
It all makes sense now. I'm sure the Washington D.C. circle is like high school as far as gossip, and the Thomases knew that McEwen was about to shop her manuscript.

And what a pathetic attempt to discredit the old girlfriend's story. The demand for an apology 19 years later is so obvious now.

This is all that a Supreme court Justice could come up with for a strategy? Boy, he must really be stupid.

& of course, I'm just waiting for him to BAWWWWWW about yet another "high tech lynching" them dam Libruls are trying to persecute against him (deliberate bad grammar. For once.)

When I first heard that, all those years ago, I thought I was going to swallow my tongue!
The absolute INSULT to real victims of lynchings.
Unbelievable.

Disgusting, lying, 2-faced man.

33. Clarence Thomas...
...appeared to be a sex addict who was obsessed with porn and powering up on women through
sexual domination.

People like that don't stop, unless they get therapy.

And we all know that the sexual deviants (addicts, pedophiles, diaper obsessives, etc.) never get help.
