I'm sure it was designed to press Reid's buttons during the debate. To his credit, he didn't seem to take the bait.

There are so many things wrong with saying that, it's hard to know where to begin, but the most obvious is the implication that it takes "balls" to act courageously. This is politics; it's all done with words; no "machismo" is necessary. Even sissy crossdressers can do it.

On the bright side, Angle's quote was played out of context in most media reports, making the comment seem even more irrational and sexist. That could have the effect of diminishing her turnout of male voters.
