FL Attorney General McCollum office sent me this excellent reply to our Mortgage issues:
Attorney General McCollum understands that citizens are desperate to save
their homes, and our office is dedicated to assisting homeowners who are
struggling in every way possible. Our office reviews complaints to
develop information about patterns of questionable business activities.
If we discover a pattern, what originated as a private dispute between
buyer and seller may become a matter of broad public interest and thus
warrant the Attorney General's intervention under the state's consumer
protection laws. Please note this office does not mediate individual
consumer complaints.

For your convenience in the future, the Attorney General's website at:

http://myfloridalegal.com/consumer

provides a database of our active investigations which you may search to
find out if we have an active investigation on a particular company and,
if so, which office to contact for further information about the
investigation. If a company is listed as being the subject of an active
investigation, please keep in mind that the existence of an investigation
does not constitute proof of any violation of law.

The Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) licenses and oversees the
mortgage industry in Florida. I encourage you to contact the OFR for any
information or assistance that agency may be able to provide. You may
contact the OFR at:

Florida Office of Financial Regulation
200 East Gaines Street
Tallahassee, Florida 32399-0370
Toll-free within Florida: (800) 848-3792
Telephone: (850) 410-9898
Website: http://www.flofr.com
Online mortgage complaint form:
http://www.flofr.com/Director/complaints.htm
E-mail: OFR@fldfs.com

To file an individual complaint about any Bank, please contact the
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The FDIC, an independent
agency of the federal government, examines and supervises state-chartered
banks that are not members of the Federal Reserve System. The contact
information is:

Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
Consumer Response Center
2345 Grand Boulevard, Suite 100
Kansas City, Missouri 64108-2638
Toll-free telephone: (800) 378-9581
Website: http://www.fdic.gov/consumers/consumer/ccc/contact.html

Another helpful resource is the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD), which funds free or low cost housing counseling
nationwide. You may contact HUD toll-free at 1-800-569-4287 to find a
HUD-approved housing counselor near you, or you may visit that agency's
website for further information about its programs and services:

Hope this helps someone else.
