In 1994 the Republicans did well in California and New York |

That is one big difference between 1994 and 2010
The Democrats and going to win New York by a landslide and Democrats should do well in California.
That is one big difference between the 2 elections. You have 2 big states that Republicans did well in 1994 staying with the Democrats this time.

the GOP will do well in the South but that isn't really surprising. This really isn't a big 'wave' election in a lot of places.

7. Indeed, if Tom McClintock were running for a state office in Cali this year... |
|
He'd get beat even worse than the other nutbags.

9. There hasn't been a sane repug in Cali since Bob Lagomarsino. |
|
Here's hoping we can get rid of Elton Gallegly this year.

3. The reason we lost so much in 1994 was because the Dems stayed home in large numbers. |
|
I don't think you can blame it on the vote in CA and NY. It's just that the health care debate was lost, the right had the contract on American and the Dems didn't bother to stand up to them. Harry and Louise did us in.
I think that is why the MSM has this big Dem loss meme. They think they can make 2010 a rerun of 1994.

5. There are large blocs of the Democratic base that are discouraged though. |
|
The anti-war brigade and LGBT Democrats, for example, are more than pissed off at the current administration. So are a good number of health-care advocates who see the new law as a disappointment. If they stay home or vote 3rd party, it will be difficult to pull off a win.

6. I can never understand that logic. Obama did them in so they are going punish themselves and let |
|
the re pubs do them in even more.
"I'll show that no good Obama! I'm going to help put homophobic, anti health care reform, war mongering repubs back into office!
Obama isn't running this year. And we get upset because some re pub makes an ad telling Latinos not to vote!

10. Barbara Boxer and Jerry McNerney need help in California |
|
Believe it or not, Cold-Ass Carly Fiorina is even with Barbara Boxer, and Jerry McNerney, who unseated despicable Richard Pombo, seems to be behind. They both need and deserve money and help.
