Comments on the Bush war bill |
|
Bush will be back for more war money this fall. Like a little spoiled child who gets bored with the toys he got for Christmas and then kicks, screams and cries for more. Every time the Congress appropriates one of these supplemental bills, the money gets used up faster than you can say Jack Robinson, and before the ink is dry on the bill, this White House starts the process all over again of asking for more money.
Many here are calling this bill a Democratic Sellout, but that might be a little too sweeping. I think a more accurate description would be that this is a sellout by the Democratic leadership in Congress. I tend to think that most rank and file Democrats in the House will vote against the bill, and perhaps in the Senate too. The bill will pass on the unanimous votes of Republicans (save Ron Paul and Walter Jones) and DLC Democrats from Red districts. Let's see how the vote comes out, but if the vote does come out this way, then our gripe should be with the Democratic leadership, and not the rank and file.
