Bullying blamed for Graham high school student's suicide

GRAHAM, Wash. – A student at Graham-Kapowsin High School committed suicide this week and friends say the 16-year-old was pushed over the edge by bullying.
Police say the boy shot himself at his home Tuesday.

School officials confirmed Thursday that a derogatory text message was recently circulated and the boy was involved in an off-campus fight.

The school says it never received any complaints about bullying from the boy or his parents.

The district says it is now investigating.

2. It like they think their doing their part to stop this after its happend
its beyond acceptable. No one, and I mean no one, should be terrorized simply for who they are.

6. I'm old and gay - I already know that - what we didn't have when I was young
Is the Internet - and it's making a difference.

Especially when you're close to the edge anyway.

4. Ugh...will this ever end? Where the hell are the councilors and
administration staff during ALL THIS!? Just kidding...I know all about the horrid conditions in some school districts, just because some people get higher degrees in education doesn't mean they know shit about adolescence or growing up getting bullied everyday for YEARS. I don't blame the teachers, I blame the staff that SHOULD be trying to prevent this kind of thing now they know there are copycats all AROUND THE COUNTRY.

'The district says it is now investigating'...sounds too much like the Pentagon when a war crime crawls to the surface and we all get to hear or read about it. :eyes:

7. I think it is unfair to place all the blame on schools
Perhaps if we really started screaming at the churches that claim that
some of gods' creations do not deserve any respect and compassion.
Where is god that they are so proud of promoting that is so full of love??

I think it is time to tell churches that if they want to tell the gays
that they are immoral and do not deserve to share this earth them they
need to keep their hate speech inside their church and if it comes out into
the secular world then it will be treated as hate speech and will be
prosecuted as such.

I have no problem with real Christians that try to follow the path of the Son of God
that is in their Bible, only the ones that are in Christ's name only.

Rant over for the time being ........... this is the second post like this Op in the last two days
and I think the number is up to 11 over the past weeks
