1. One of their satellites is down.
I called tech support yesterday. They said they're working on it.

2. Horrid signal yesterday - HORRID
have not checked it today. I thought my antenna had gone kaput..but came home and hubby said he had nearly no signal yesterday either.

Any news from XM out there on the problem (mid Ohio for us)

"Some customers are not receiving a signal," said Chance Patterson, XM's vice president of corporate affairs. "We don't know the exact number, but some."

The radio network has a total subscription base of more than 8 million. "We do expect to return to normal service levels this evening," Patterson said.

Washington, D.C.-based XM's program lineup includes Major League Baseball and talk show host Oprah Winfrey, as well as shock jock duo Opie & Anthony.

5. "Some" customers?
sounds like "most" or "large numbers" of customers.

Sounds also like a major issue to me if they are downplaying it that much.

8. I got am email from XM telling me that the signal was "degraded"
That they were working on it and it would be back up to snuff on Tuesday. It was breaking up ALOT!!!

it should be fixed by early Tuesday morning. Well, it's not as far as north Atlanta is concerned.

10. I spoke with them this morning. They're not giving an estimate for when it'll be fixed.
BUT, they did say that if you call once it's back up, they'll credit your account for the downtime.

on hold with a polite yet very uninformed and very unhelpful woman spewing talking points in JAMAICA? Great.... Use all your cell minutes to do that...:shrug:


I'm betting someone files a class action suit to get all subscribers affected an automatic refund. I'm not proposing this be done. I don't even necessarily favor it... Just saying, I'd bet someone does.

she was from Georgia (or the immediate vicinity judging by the accent).
