Has Wikileaks' Iraq War Logs Site Been Taken Down? |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-23-10 07:04 AM by Turborama
I'm just getting this... This web page is not available. The web page at http://wardiary.wikileaks.org/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Any other DUers able to access it? I found the link at the bottom of this log: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/iraq/warlogs/7C7ED59C-5C3A-40C5-ADD7-4412D0C0C113That log is one of many that are linked to in this interactive graphic: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/interactive/2010/aug/13/iraq-war-logs">Iraq war logs: A day in the life of the warThis page has a lot of links to the data in various formats: http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2010/oct/23/wikileaks-iraq-data-journalism">Wikileaks Iraq: data journalism maps every deathUpdate The site above isn't working but this one is: http://wikileaks.org/iraq/diarydig

1. The US and several other countries have frozen their assets |
|
putting them on a sort of unwelcome tourist list. Trying to shut them down by stealing their funding.

2. I tried repeatedly last night, got briefly into the logs, not the diary. |
|
Thought because they were overloaded with requests - but the note you pasted above is different than what I was getting.

3. That could well be the reason. I'm glad to hear it's not my ISP blocking it |
|
I (and all their customers) have been having major problems with them lately about a broad brush blocking of torrents, related sites & Google UK (strangely, as I don't even live there) and I thought they might have flicked the switch on this one too.
BTW That was a message from Google Chrome.

I'm still getting the same message.
Good to hear it hasn't been taken down, though.
