Just got home from our "make a difference day" project. My volunteer service group |
|
joined with a couple other local groups to have a collect for local food banks. We took in well over $1000 and I can't even begin to guess how much food. I feel good. Very tired but good.:woohoo:

What a great feeling it is to know you DID make a difference !! If this idea could only be spread across the country be it collecting food, picking up litter, helping the elderly winterize their homes or do minor repairs, raking, weed pulling etc. It's not what you do as long as you do something that helps those who cannot help themselves. Imagine the throws, quilts, hats, socks etc that could be made by talented hands with just scraps of fabric or leftover yarns. It could help warm so many as the fall turns to winter and those forced to keep the heat very low because of costs or those even less fortunate and have to live in a vehicle or under a bridge. Church groups, scout groups, womens clubs--so many groups out there could be doing just what you did. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
