Petitions to Congress: Don’t Let Extremists Defund NPR
Sarah Palin just called on Congress to cut all funds for National Public Radio, after the broadcaster fired analyst Juan Williams for comments he made disparaging Muslims on Fox News. Now Sen. Jim Demint (R – S.C.) is introducing legislation that slashes all funds to one of the last, best sources of journalism we have in America.

Please take a moment to join tens of thousands of others who are defending NPR and standing up to Sarah Palin and extremists. Sign this letter to Congress and share this action with all of your friends.

As jillan said http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x9372707">in her OP...

The bill that DeMint introduced (or will introduce) will stop funding to ALL public funded radio, like PBS and Pacifica.

We watched them do this to Acorn - we cannot let them do this to public radio. Can you imagine? Npr is the only sanity that some smaller towns have that aren't lucky enough to have one liberal talk station...and NPR isn't even that liberal.

Anyway - there is a petition if you want to sign it

and even if you don't want to sign, we may just want to keep our eyes and ears opened.

Ugh - I can't stand DeMint!

1. Williams didn't disparage Muslims...
he disparaged HIMSELF!

He said that HE was afraid of people in Muslim garb. He didn't say that any Muslim did ANYTHING.

Why the fuck is that so hard to understand?

NPR fucked up, plain and simple, and they should man up!
