Illinois....WTF????
Another poll came out today showing that Giannoulias is still trailing Kirk by 2 points. WHAT IS THE DEAL???? Illinois has been a reliably blue state for quite some time, plus it's Obama's home state! :wtf:

Can't Jesse Jackson go to Chicago and rally African-Americans to get out and vote? Come on, Democrats! WE HAVE TO KEEP THIS SEAT!!! :grr:

And no link, but a lot of hand wringing and the usual "WTF"

Another one to add to ignore. Geesh.

3. In the next week
both Clinton and Obama will be here. I think we'll quickly see the numbers change.

Crossroads has saturated the airwaves with lies about Giannoulias.

4. You'd be surprised
at how hard fought some of the "reliably" blue states actually are. I know many think of Michigan that way but in many cases it is a pretty close, hard fought battle. We can't really take many of the reliably blue states for granted.

5. Important note on last night's IL poll: A stunning 23% of Dems are undecided - versus only 6% of

Republicans! Huge lifeline for Giannoulias.

This was tweeted by someone who follows a lot of polls.

edit:
More on NV Senate race:

@edhenrycnn: 2 senior Dem sources tell CNN Reid's internal #'s show him up 6 over Sharron Angle, a trend they claim has held for days.

@RalstonFlash MT @edhenrycnn: Top GOPer says "no way:" "It's literally a dead heat."/Top GOP source wrong. But only a poll!

At the very least, looks like CNN's Dem and GOP sources agree there is no Angle surge - we're somewhere between tie and small Reid lead.

9. Once again it is African-Americans who are to blame. This time we are responsible for
Giannoulias' lagging numbers. If your hypothesis is true (and I find it rather short-sighted and insulting), I doubt Jesse Jackson would hardly be the one to call out to rally the troops.

13. I love hoe African Americans are to blame for Giannoulias bad campaign
and his lagging poll numbers. It is not our fault that in Chicago I have yet to see one Giannoulias sign in a yard. My grandma's union invited him to a rally and he didn't show up.

14. No, not at all....
...I didn't mean to suggest that at all. What I am saying is regardless of how lackluster Giannoulias' campaign has been, it is imperative that we get him elected to ensure that we keep control of the Senate. The way to do this is to motivate ALL the factions of our party base: that includes union members/workers, African-Americans, middle & working-class families, the gay community, the 2008 first-time voters who backed Obama, college students, etc.

This is a race we really should have had in the bag long ago (Illinois), and unfortunately we're having to invest precious resources there when they could be going to help Sestak in Pennsylvania, Manchin in West Virginia, and Reid in Nevada.

16. Sounds like Giannoulias's campaign...
...can't find its butt with both hands! Who the hell is running it? Can't the Illinois Democratic Party or the president pull some weight here?

10. it`s a toss-up....
both kirk and giannoulias have baggage. we could lose one or more house seats and the governorship.

with the media spotlight on california and other states no one is paying any attention to illinois. i mean we are rather a large state.

11. I live in the Fox River Valley,
far western Chicago suburbs. I have not seen any Giannoulias signs, not one! Mark Kirk signs are plastered everywhere. If you ask folks around here who is running for Obama's old senate seat they say "Mark Kirk" and then draw a blank. Granted this is a Republican area but it has become more purple recently and I think the fact there is no organization out here is a bad omen. If Giannoulias gets swamped huge in the suburbs the city vote won't save him, especially in an off year election. I have my fingers crossed but I am not feeling good about this one.
