Until there is a full accounting of the profits made during the last 6 years, there can't be justice |

FOLLOW THE MONEY is still one of the most important rules of any Congressional Investigation.
No matter how corrupt individuals may be, in promoting their political agenda and sealing their power, MONEY is the glue that holds it all together.
The Enron investigation was never fully investigated, and the employees and shareholders were never compensated for their losses. Likewise, the states like California which were defrauded by extorted energy contracts have been left high and dry.
Banks and lenders which made the frauds possible have negotiated slaps on the wrists and moved on free of prosecution, and in many cases being allowed to keep their ill-gotten gains.
If there is no real investigation and exposure of those who profitted, this conduct will repeat itself again and again. That is where we are today.
Incarceration of the underlings will not change anything. Holding those who profitted responsible and taking away their money --that would change things.

1. Gonzales is only part of the equation.... |
|
Gonzales was politicizing the DOJ to promote schemes to suppress Democratic voters, which was designed to keep Repubs in power, which is necessary to keep the K Street contributions rolling in, which preserves the appropriations pipeline to K Street interests, which compensate Repub politicians while in office and provide a cushy lucrative landing spot for them when they leave office.
So in essence, Gonzales is all about keeping the money flowing. Political concerns are secondary to this prime concern.
Follow the money...
