Are you good at drawing? You too could have a lucrative career in animation!
...Fair 2006 was an eye-opener for students and parents who turned out in large numbers, on various career options.

Industry experts shared their expertise and spoke on the fundamentals of various fields through seminars and interactive sessions. One such seminar on June 4 laid bare the nitty-gritty of the rapidly growing animation industry.

Animation is a process of creating graphics with motion for a variety of purposes. Animation professionals have a thorough knowledge of computer systems and possess artistic abilities. They work on a wide range of products in various industries.

Designing, conception, rigging, special effects, editing and sound composing, are some of the processes involved in creation of an animation film. Rigging is an important aspect in animation. Riggers create a skeleton for the character and enhance its movements.

The demand for skilled animators is growing and, if you are seriously considering making it big in this business, a degree from a reputed animation school is the first step on the road to a fun-filled and rewarding career.

Before joining a course, check out the people who run the institute, their experience, curriculum duration, faculty and facilities, quality systems, projects and placements. If students wish to do a part-time course while pursuing undergraduate studies, it is best to take up a two-year course.

Where can I sign up? The adverts on tv for this field in America basically say you don't even need to be creative to get ahead on this field. Of course, there are virtually no positions for this field...

Will India allow people to emigrate? And if not, can I go there illegally?

2. And South Korea.
Actually mostly tween animation and color is done there, which is the vast majority of animation grunt work.

3. You guys are talking about 2D animation?
Edited on Tue May-22-07 09:59 AM by gatorboy
It has been outsourced for years. I was under the impression that the article is referring to 3D animation (2D is pretty much a dead art form unless we're talking about Flash animation). I think 3D animation is still a young enough field that it hasn't quite been completely outsourced overseas just yet (I have a few friends in the field). But give it time. When they decide Americans are making too much, the gaming companies will all ship off to India (Though from the sound of the article, it sounds iike they may well be on their way...).
