Two top conservatives are having a disagreement and it's playing out in the media.

Karl Rove said Sunday that Rush Limbaugh had taken his comment that the Tea Party was "not sophisticated" out of context.

In an interview published online Tuesday, Rove told Der Spiegel that the Tea Party lacks sophistication and is not a "well-organized, coherent, ideologically motivated and conservative revolution."

"Why would Karl be saying this, Rush?" a listener asked Limbaugh Wednesday. "Why doesn't Karl learn to keep his mouth shut?"

It doesn't seem right to watch this dickhead witout a fair chance to at least heckle him. I watched nature shows instead. I'm much happier hearing getting slimeball quotes second-hand like this from people who are less likely to attack their own TV.

14. There is a fundamental difference in their approaches.

Rush knows that as long as he puts up a good front and asserts himself as a lone authority that can be trusted, he can mislead his followers to the desired outcome.

Rove, on the other hand, has proven that their followers don't even deserve that consideration, and seeks to drive people to the desired outcome through fear, disinformation, and tapping into their latent racism and homosexuality.

Therefore, Rove sees it as inadvisable and even dangerous to actually engage the tea-partiers. Why engage them when they can be much more cheaply and dependably frightened into doing the GOP's bidding at the polls? Engaging the tea partiers inevitably leads to the selection of incompetent fools like Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell as their leaders, while simply cranking up the terror meter on the weekend before the election produces similar turnout and votes for more evil, calculating Republicans.
