Alan Grayson pumps his own money into race.
Florida 8th District

Rep. Alan Grayson isn’t just losing the home stretch fundraising race: He’s pumping his own money into his race. He has more than $870,000 to spend on the final two weeks, but he loaned himself $95,000 on Oct. 13 on top of the $135,000 he put in on Aug. 23.

4. It's hard to get polling information for Congressional races but he's either behind or it's
...very close. I know the risk he could lose this seat is real. The DCCC has pegged his race as 'unwinnable' and is not providing any financial support.

8. I don't know what internal polling is telling them
But the last external poll was done a month ago showing a 7pt lead for the other guy.

A lot can happen in a month. Or, even a week.

2. If he has the means
It's not a bad idea. Donations don't always come in exactly when you need to spend money.

3. I thought I heard that he was actually doing pretty well funds-wise. Man,
I hate to hear this. I know so many of us have tried to give what we can to Grayson (and Feingold!) I hope we can do a little more and I hope they can help him on Ed, Keith, Rachel, too!

5. He is, compared to his opponent.
Unfortunately there are third parties spending the equivalent of the GNP of a small European country running ads against him, thanks to our recent USSC ruling. He is quite literally battling against corporate America, and all their funding.

6. His campaign has raised more money than his opponent's campaign but he's been targeted by scads...
of outside money. He was listed as 1 of the Republican's main targets. Of course, he was. He tells the truth and he's effective.

10. He said this, to us:
'According to Politico 20% of all of the outside right-wing special-interest money in the entire country has been spent against me, or that the Executive Director of the NRCC said that I'm the Republican's Number One target in 2010? OK, you're entitled to your opinion.'

11. Yes. He's been buried in an avalanche of outside money trying to defeat him.
I'm very worried about him losing this election. He's one of the best we have which is, of course, why the RW has targeted him so aggressively.

12. I don't believe he can match the amount of corporate money that's coming against him.
I don't believe there are many who could.

16. Those people in FL must be batsh*t crazy.
I donated to Grayson this week. (I don't live in FL but do want to see him stay in office). I hope he manages to pull this out.

22. More than enough to counter this?
'According to Politico 20% of all of the outside right-wing special-interest money in the entire country has been spent against me, or that the Executive Director of the NRCC said that I'm the Republican's Number One target.'

Doubt it.

I would only be too happy to give him the ammunition.
