The RW & TPs on corporations
I may be late to this realization but...after viewing some local blogs I have come to understand the RW view of corporations - they provide the jobs. Their increasingly libertarian views are to us illogical because getting rid of regulations will cause us all more harm. But the TPs do not hear any of that. Corporations provide jobs and every regulation prevents them from creating more jobs - period.

Closing tax loopholes to them would stop them from creating new jobs. Some are suggesting that corporations should not pay any taxes at all.

It looks to me as if corporate interests have done a pretty good job of brainwashing people in this country. There is an undercurrent of fear in their postings and the corporations are going to save them.

1. You pretty much nailed it....
They like to say that if we let the Bush tax cuts expire, the corps won't create jobs.

But, of course, the tax cuts have been there for nine years, and how's the job outlook going? They can't answer that one, because they got nothing. Only, "Well we have to cut them farther."

The fact is that, regardless of what the tax rates might suggest, actual tax receipts from corporate interests are some of the lowest in the industrialized world.

6. Yes - the tax cuts too
and good point about the nin years. When I think of the political ads, for example for Murray, the messages that would cause alarm in Democrats are just not getting through to the conservatives. Corporations can do no wrong.

3. I'm worried it may have gotten to the point where
corporations are essentially just not going to create jobs on purpose, even if it's in their best interest, just to "prove" that more tax cuts create jobs.

IMO, they're already there.....
They've been sitting on cash this year. The stim actually helped them out a lot. They just refused to pass it on to anybody who actually works for a living.

All Republicans do not believe this way. Libertarians
get TV coverage but there are not as many true Liebertarians.

This is just further proof that we need our own philosphy
and basic beliefs and educate the Public so the people
will recognize when they are receiving lies.

This country is not Libertarian. I think all the Libertarina
principles and policies being discussed on TV---is the reason
the polls seem to be shifting our way.

Here is a point we must drive home. The Country is not
as conservative as the Members on the Hill.

8. Education is right
I really think Democratic politicians need to do more educating. There are strong forces out in media land that are programming people to believe a certain way. "Education and explanation" is the only way to possibly get through to them.

9. But if we take away the incentives of tax relief, what can we use to
induce desired behavior?

11. Locating headquarters off-shore
and moving jobs to other countries are rewarded with tax breaks. Those are the ones I am talking about.
Businesses are part of communities that require roads, emergency services and all those things.
Once upon a time corporations obtained their charters with the understanding they would contribute to the common good.

10. they may choose to invest that untaxed income in jobs here, but they are just as likely if not
more to do something else with it.
