3. Their prescription for change is a little silly
because what we'd get is a government by Sarah Palin and all the other half wits out there. The real governing would be done by invisible and unelected wonks in their offices and guess who would be all too eager to supply those.

What we need is to get the dirty money out of elections--all of it, including union money--and publicly fund them. The primary season should be four weeks. The election season should be four weeks. Debates should be televised on all networks, blocks of time allotted every season so that each state could do the debates at the same time for the local audiences.

That plus paper ballots, counted by human beings, would clean up our elections and quite possibly our government.
