Poor Yahoo News. They're Just Trying SO Hard To Convince Us.
So I open up Yahoo today to check my e-mail, and I find that this is the top story on Yahoo News:

"Dems stronger than expected in early voting: Democrats Off To Good Start In Early Voting"
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20101025/pl_nm/us_usa_elections_early

But then when you open up that article, the "Top Stories" on the side bar has THIS as its Top Story:

"Dark clouds for Dems as Obama embarks on final push"
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101025/ap_on_el_pr/us_obama;_ylt=AqOxwcU6PBp9Jfkl3KdLJ00b.3QA;_ylu=X3oDMTNiajFiczZyBGFzc2V0Ay9zL2FwLzIwMTAxMDI1L2FwX29uX2VsX3ByL3VzX29iYW1hBGNjb2RlA21wX2VjXzhfMTAEY3BvcwMxBHBvcwMxBHNlYwN5bl90b3Bfc3RvcmllcwRzbGsDZGFya2Nsb3Vkc2Zv

Seems kinda contradictory, doesn't it? So, in a matter of a single day (probably no more than a few hours apart), Yahoo News reported a story about Democrat having a great start with early voting, but then felt COMPELLED to remind us that the Democratic Party has "dark clouds" overhead. I wish the "Liberal Media" would just give up this storyline that it's been pushing for roughly the last 10 months that the Democrats are going to get slaughtered this year. Like a pit bull with a soup bone, even when the evidence screams to the contrary, they just won't give it up.

1. And just now I noted a front pager on campaign fibs
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/5-Campaign-Fibs-About-the-usnews-2615553179.html?x=0

headline says both sides are guilty but if you look at the five, it is by far mostly right wing truth-destruction.

Full media blitz to push the right wing is well under way...and totally transparent.

2. I switched from Yahoo as my home page because they are so
glaringly right wing.

7. Ha
I thought maybe I was being bias. I noticed this when I switched to yahoo mail. They get their stories from the AP so I guess that may have something to do with it.

3. I think Yahoo just picks up stories from other services
so they wind up with contradictory stories.

But I agree, the media started a year ago trying to turn this into a bloodbath against the Democrats, and wrote a lot of stories about "anti-incumbency fever" and all that, without any evidence. Now, closer to the elections, a lot of polls are getting more realistic because the media needs to have some plausibility left after the election.

I really don't know how this will turn out. Dems are upset with Obama, as is always the case when we actually win, but that doesn't mean they won't vote for the Democratic candidates. And while the Republicans are all mad and fired up and stuff, it's really the same group that's always fired up for them, and they only get one vote (except in Florida and Texas, maybe). So that extra energy doesn't mean much.

And the Republican ads I've seen have been over-the-top with the angry rhetoric, and that usually means the Republicans aren't as confident as they are made out to be. Those ads also motivate the Democratic base out of anger, and turn off a lot of the middle, who are right now remembering why they didn't like the Republicans two years ago.

So I don't think we are in as much trouble as the media has been saying, but it's hard to say until the elections. Even if the majority nationally is mad at the Democrats, for instance, it doesn't mean that all those voters will vote for a specific Republican over their Democratic candidate. Politics is still local.

5. Will Democratic Victories in Midterms Tarnish M$M Credibility?
If things go as I expect they will, there should be some embarrassed pundits and news organizations.

6. I stopped checking Yahoo news page a few weeks back.
It has been extremely biased and I refuse to give them any traffic.
