1. I think Frank's internals revealed an uphill climb against
Chafee and he was just letting off some steam.

4. Well, maybe his internals got him to appeal to a new group
He was on a right-wing talk show where he could appeal to the frothing neanderthals who say things a hundred times worse about Obama when they call the host, a slimy weasel named John Depetro. He did say shove it with all the contempt they usually have.

2. Caprio: "I have the highest respect for the President."
Yeah right. He now joins the group who have asshole as their middle name.

"take his endorsement and really shove it" ... Democratic candidate for Rhode Island governor Frank Caprio

"you lie" ... South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson

"not true" ... Justice Samuel Alito

"I did not vote for Obama. I voted for McCain." ... Rep. Gene Taylor (D-Miss.)

3. Good For Him
Obama has been completely tone deaf on this. He is the leader of the dem party and as such should be standing with dems, His withholding his endorsement is as good as a bite for Chaffee. Even on Du we are not allowed to endorse other candidates over dems.

5. I agree...he should have at least gone through the motions of endorsing Caprio...
He really blew it by not endorsing the Dem who ran against Bloomberg, and if he had, the guy might have won...

9. I Know
He surprised everyone and made Bloomberg fight for what he though would be a cake walk. Though I think one reason was that there was an anti-Bloomberg vote. That 3rd term business was sneaky and nasty.

10. I don't understand how the Head of the Democratic Party can refuse
to endorse the Democratic candidate. He is alienating more than Caprio. He is alienating, and I suspect, angering the RI Democratic Party. That is not 11th Dimensional Chess, that's stupid politics. Lose, lose.

12. They welcomed him last night
Stumping in Providence for David Cicilline and Jim Langevin who are up for the two congressional seats.

Many in the RI Democratic Party have their problems with Caprio, make no mistake. I'm very worried about some of the people who are going to call the shots if he gets in. We were never given a choice in the primary. Cicilline dropped out to run for Congress, and he buried Lynch by outspending him and he dropped out.

6. Dems don't take secret meetings with the RNC
They also shouldn't be advocating extension of the Bush tax cuts to all.

His "shove it" falls right in line with who he's trying to appeal to in this election.

13. I agree with that
But I'm doing my part to not support a guy who may be worse than a Blue Dog for my state.

14. I Agree With That
You're talking principles over party and I'm just mindful of how many times progressives have been scolded for not doing the 'right thing' for the party yet they will do things like sneak support a Lieberman (all for the party's sake doncha know). I am as sick of Dinos and Dogs as anyone and as the poster above said, this guy is classless but I also think the leadership can't have it both ways.

7. I understand his frustration but he truly exhibited a lack of class with his remarks.
He's going to lose and not just because the President refused to endorse him. If any were conflicted about the race, Caprio's petulance probably tipped them in favor of Chafee.

8. He's trying to win votes away from the Republican
He already tried to get the guy to drop out. It's been clear he covets the right-wingers who hate Chafee with a passion but can't find a reason to vote for a DINO.
