Paul volunteer apologizes for scuffle.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A Rand Paul supporter is apologizing after he was seen on video stepping on a liberal activist's head.

Tim Profitt, a volunteer with the Republican's U.S. Senate campaign, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the camera angle made the scuffle Monday night appear worse that it was. He criticized police for not stepping in and says other supporters warned authorities about the activist.

Lauren Valle, a 23-year-old with the group MoveOn.org, was wrestled to the ground by Paul supporters when she tried to confront the tea party favorite with a fake award. Valle said Tuesday she was sore and swollen.

The Paul campaign cut ties with Profitt, removing him from his role as Bourbon County campaign coordinator and banning him from campaign events.

-----
"scuffle"?

"He criticized police for not stepping in and says other supporters warned authorities about the activist."

He criticized police for not stopping him from stomping her head and for not arresting him? Or, he criticized police for not arresting her and therefore making his head-stomping necessary? I.e. he was only doing what the police failure forced him to do!

37. depends on how you define apologize, doesn't it?
My favorite dictionary says

"Apologize - to end (or more commonly, escalate) an argument by ostensibly taking the blame. Experts in the area (i.e. people who have spent a lot of time in male-female interactions) are able to make an apology in such a way as to cause the recipient of the apology to look like the guilty party and/or feel angrier than he or she did prior to receiving the apology. It is important to remember that the purpose of an apology is not to accept blame, but rather to make a sarcastic or disparaging remark and yet later be able to say 'I apologized - what more do you want?'

The following are examples of right ways and wrong ways to apologize.

1. It was my fault (bad apology) - I'm sure it must be my fault - it usually is, isn't it? You never do ANYTHING wrong! (good apology)

2. Please forgive me (bad apology) - Well excu-u-u-u-u-se me! (good apology)

3. I'm sorry (bad apology) - I'm sorry I didn't follow your orders to the letter, general! (good apology)

4. I apologize (bad apology) - I am just sorry you are so paranoid and so insecure that you can't look at this realistically. (good apology)"

12. IF this incident is what allows Jack Conway to win KY
that woman deserves a HUGE thank you, and then some, for exposing Rand Paul and their goons for what they are. I am really hoping something good will come from this - like people opening their eyes and Rand Paul crawling back to where ever he came from. He's bad news for Kentucky and for the country.

18. I would like to know exactly what was going on before the "scuffle";
why did other supporters feel a need to warn authorities about the activist? Let me be clear, right now I don't think Ms. Valle was doing anything wrong. In fact, I'm wondering if she was pointed out to police officers who responded with a shrug precisely because she wasn't doing anything wrong. I've seen reports that Ms. Valle wanted to hand Paul the award, wanted to be photographed next to him holding the award, now we are told she was going to "confront" him with the award.

What I think is that in bizarro Tea Party World, any sign of disagreement is an attack that must be put down at once.

and he's damned lucky she didn't end up with a neck fracture.

Get that asshole off the street and do NOT let him soft pedal the language. What he did was a vicious and cowardly attack against a woman who was being held down and who was no threat to anyone.

OFF THE STREET! NOW!

Fake-ass "Libertarian" douche bag. He stomped on someone's head for disagreeing with him, then says it's the PUBLICLY FUNDED Police's fault for allowing the American citizen to come within head-stomping distance of him. Right-wing = authoritarian asshole.
