Mommy, there's a bison in the pool.....
Edited on Tue Oct-26-10 02:51 PM by marmar

from HuffPost:

Here's a rare sight: A family in Georgia woke up one morning to a buffalo wading in their backyard swimming pool.

White County residents Chris Nonnemaker and his wife noticed holes in their pool, and when they lifted up the cover, they discovered the brown beast.

Someone in the neighborhood apparently owned three buffaloes as pets which escaped. Two were captured, but the third was missing for weeks until turning up in this pool.

Watch incredible footage of the buffalo in the pool below:

1. Q: "What's he doing in there?" A: "The backstroke."
Sorry, old lame joke. Couldn't resist.

But who in their right mind would have pet buffalo???

4. I think I'd be changing the water after that...
From the description, I'm imagining that it climbed on top and broke through the cover? I wonder why - has Georgia been experiencing some drought or lack of surface water recently? And where was the thing all this time (I'm sure they would have noticed if it was in there for more than a day)?

Funny story!

7. So they had to put him down.
That'll teach him. So he won't do it again. How sad that the owner couldn't somehow secure his "pets". Now the Buffalo paid the price. I sure hope he gets fined for this. I hate that they decide, well we better kill it. I'm sure somone who could have taken the Buffalo away and put him a secure surrounding. If anything, he's good to eat. What a waste.

8. Why did they put it down?
Man, I loathe those morning shows and their infotainment, neither information, nor entertainment.
