2. Of course I would! I'm not a barbarian. |
|
He's wrong. Nothing more.
His being wrong does not eliminate my obligation to be civil.

9. You're comparing Rand Paul to Pol Pot and Ted Bundy? |
|
Seriously? What's your justification for that?

3. If I was close enough to shake his hand |
|
I'd refuse but I'd ask him a question. "Sir, why are you opposed to the Americans with disablities act?" I am sure his nazi thugs would try to kill me with a question like that, but it'd be interesting to ask him that anyway.

I'm a civilized human being...not a barbarian. I would also drill him on his opposition to the Civil Rights Bill among other things. I'll be polite, but he wouldn't get away without me saying my piece.

17. I only shake hands with people I respect |
|
And there are very few politicians I respect enough to shake their hands. I would be proud to shake Jimmy Carter's hand. I would consider shaking Bill or Hillary Clinton's hands, almost certainly would shake Barack and Michelle Obama's hands.
I would not shake a Bush's hand - any of the famous political family are people who I do not respect. Ron and Rand Paul are nuts and I don't respect them enough to care to be civil. Sarah Palin is even lower on my respect list - if I saw her coming, I would leave the area immediately.
Today I shook Ion Sancho's hand - a politician who fights to keep our votes safe and who I respect tremendously.

I've shaken hands and broken bread with murderers, corrupt Afghan cops, terrorists, insurgents and god knows who else. In other words they were probably actively planning the best way to kill me over chai tea.
Also shook hands with Bush once at Fort Benning.

His opposition is more libertarian than racist.
