Anyone have the "A Day in the Life of Joe Republican" list? |
|
I thought I had bookmarked it a while ago, but can't find it now. Thanks.

One of my old college friends -- who used to be a liberal with the rest of us -- moved to Texas and has become a caricature of a Sarah Palin wingnut. He just posted a link on Facebook about a group (and available T-Shirts) to lower your "government footprint." It needs some serious debunking.

Based on sad experience, I'm not hopeful that dedicated wingnuts can be convinced of anything they don't want to believe or accept, especially the error of their ways.
They're completely dismissive of factual evidence and any attempt at reasoned discussion devolves quickly. They get defensive briefly, then go on the offensive with ad hominem attacks and straw man arguments.
I hate feeling cynical, though, and hope you get through to your friend. Maybe he'll be one of the exceptions and actually amenable to rationality.
Carry on!

at all from the "target" friend, but my Dem friends on Facebook (which is most of them) like it.
But you're right -- generally, dedicated wingnuts won't change their minds.
