Would a Respectable Person Work for Fox? |
|
I believe that it's somewhat true that Juan Williams' firing at NPR came about because, as he said, his former employer had been "looking for a reason to fire him."
HIs association at NPR served to legitimize him.
Many organizations would hesitate to employ someone who as associated with a group as smarmy as Fox News.
I'm not saying that a person doesn't have the right to work for anyone that he chooses. On the other hand, he should expect to be tarred by their reputation.

A respectable person wouldn't have worked for Hitler or Idi Amin either.

Juan Williams' comfort in working for Fox shows that his integrity is compromised. Fox isn't just any old television station. It is the propaganda tool for the extreme right wing and its agenda.
