Government shutdown as a campaign topic |
|
Why don't they use the Republican threat of a government shutdown if they take over and don't get their way on giving the rich a tax break? Let the voters know what's not going to be paid for if that happens and frame it now as it will be the Repubs fault. You know if they take control and shut it down they will frame it to make Obama look bad. If we talk about it now as a campaign issue, and keep talking about it after the election IF they do take over, we should be in a good position to lay the blame squarely at their feet "see I told you so!" and destroy the pigs for good in the next one.

Shutting down the government or using the threat of one as an issue? The Republicans lost on it when Gingrich pulled it when Clinton was in office, but what I've seen is they will try to do it this time without making Gingrich's mistake of whining about having to sit on the back of a plane.
