An immense network of professional liars have taken over our airwaves.

They have an awful lot to do with the current mood of the public.

Much of their damage has been the result of out-and-out lies, not just stating their opinions.

Yet much of DU flocks to their defense under the impression that 1st Amendment Free Speech includes the right to lie to the public and call it news.

They are also to blame for this mess.

They sided with the instigators.

Lowry Mays and Bush were buddies when they were at A&M and Texas.

Mark Mays has taken over Clear Channel from his dad (last I knew, anyway).

Lowry Mays' CC stations organized the "Freedom Rallies" that encouraged steamrolling Dixie Chicks' CDs.

The deregulated FCC FUCKED UP when it allowed for communications consolidation to get to the point where it is today, but it was a big part of the long-term Republican plan.

Beck, Hannity, et al. are hired guns for the really big money guys, and you are right--there is a tangled web. The big money guys want their way. I just hope all us little people keep fighting.
