Cops share more details on probe of stomper
Edited on Tue Oct-26-10 05:29 PM by Joanne98
Okay, some more detail for you on the case of the stomped MoveOn worker.

Lexington police say they're looking to talk to one Tim Profitt, who is believed to be Rand Paul's Bourbon County coordinator, on the strength of numerous tips they've received.

However, cops are looking to talk to many other people, too, according to Sherelle Roberts, a spokesperson for the Lexington cops. But the police do want to interview him, and are currently trying to contact him, she tells me.

"It is safe to say that we are investigating that name along with many others that we have gotten today," Roberts says. "We are working to make contact with him as soon as possible. As soon as we make contact with him, we will be questioning him."

Based on the Paul campaign's most recent statement, Paul aides have identified the assailant, or at least someone who played a key part in the melee. The Paul campaign said in that statement that they have "disassociated itself from the volunteer who took part in this incident."

He lives in Paris.....

The fallout from Monday night’s altercation prior to the U.S. Senate debate continues to mount. Lexington Police have identified the suspect as Tim Proffitt of Paris. He has been served a criminal summons to appear before a Fayette District Judge on an assault complaint.

1. 'The volunteer'? From what I saw there were at minimum, three or four 'volunteers' involved.

2. "on the strength of numerous tips they've received"
good move - especially since the paul campaign has broken with the man. he's been identified and all but fingered by rand paul, himself, since the campaign has given him the boot from their goon squad.

3. "trying to contact"
The guy is national news, and shouldn't be that hard to find. If he is, it's called being a fugitive.

7. Hey Lexington's "finest"-are you going to apologize to him
when you HAVE to cuff him? If this isn't chilling (don't come to Kentucky you "hippies" cause you'll get assulted on camera and we'll have to arrest our fine upstanding citizens when we really wanted to throw your ass in jail.).
