My roommate wasn't going to vote. |
|
She is a democrat who hates the republican party and thinks Obama is great. We talk about politics all the time. She doesn't see any point in voting because New York is a blue state. She has never bothered voting in midterm elections because it is to much trouble. The sad thing is that the place to vote is only three blocks away from our apartment. I told her all the reasons why she should vote but nothing seemed to work. I even told her I would make french toast if she gets up early and votes with me before work. She finally agreed to go vote. Has anyone else had to convince one of their friends or family to vote?

2. Take her out to breakfast on Tuesday morning - and stop at the polling place first. |

4. It is pointless to vote in provincial and federal election where I live... |

Liberals have won big here since before the Great Depression. The riding stays red by commanding margins even when there are Tory and NDP landslides. My country needs proportional representation; it's barely worth voting here unless you live in suburban Toronto or the British Columbia lower mainland.
And unlike you guys, we don't have down-ballot races.

I have to vote too. I can't afford to go out to breakfast but I'm going to make pancakes or french toast.
