File under: Republicans are evil

That's Maynard on the left, on vacation with the owner of the Upper Big branch mine, in which 29 workers were killed in April.

Maynard responded to a different ad that goes after his relationship with a Massey Energy executive.

He said there's no reason to disassociate with the CEO.

"Mr. Blankenship runs a coal company that employs about 8,000 people in southern West Virginia and eastern Kentucky," Maynard said. "They're good jobs, they pay good wages. They pay medical benefits for about 30,000 people in southern West Virginia."

4. I lived
for 5 years in WV coal country and there is truth in the statement that coal miners make a good wage. I personally would not care to do that kind of work and here in NE PA, the limited minning activity is mostly ugly surface operations. I have mentioned this before and have been told I'm wrong but the anti-coal position of we dems hold play's well in the cities but even here in NE PA coal county it is not something to shout loudly when seeking public office.
