The exception was if you voted in advance, or were a person with a disability who needed to use the Voter Assist Terminal. I voted well in advance, so I used a touch-screen terminal. I was terrified of pressing the wrong thing, but I had three separate opportunities to check that my selections were correct.
For most people, they voted on a paper ballot, but the votes were counted by machine. However, before a voter left the polling station, the person at the machine made sure to check that the ballot went through, confirming that they filled it out correctly.
For some reason, I don't believe we've ever had a problem. :shrug:
