Poll question: Nate Silver's gloomy forecast for the House election makes you... |
|
For example: http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/10/26/tonights-house-forecast-52-seat-gain-for-g-o-p/"If Democrats were hoping for a late surge to improve their chances of retaining control of the House, there isn't any evidence of it yet."

3. Thankfully, almost all of my state's representatives are in good shape. |
|
The state where I previously, lived, Arizona, has every House Democrat except Ed Pastor in serious danger.
I hope Nate's wrong, and he has stressed that there is a huge margin of error in predicting the House breakdown.
But his methodology is pretty decent, even though I don't want to see his prediction actually happen.

7. I honestly don't believe so. |
|
I think he's really trying to tell it like he sees it. If he erred on the side of playing down the possibility of change, however, that could have a worse effect on Dems voting than erring on the other side.

I want to believe they are all wrong..but the possibility that they are right makes me want to go into the bathroom and puke.

It just reminds me that Nate, for all the hoopla around him, has a very short CV as an election pundit.

Normal to lose the majority in the House in this off year.
If people want to vote against their interest, then fuck 'em.
