Is there a Democrat running against Jim DeMint?
Didn't the weird one who won the primary drop out? Did they replace him? or no?

1. Would that be Alvin Green?

I would vote for him before Demented?

2. Green
A nobody who, it is claimed, was elected by Diebold voting machines.

There were two sets of votes.

The absentees and the final day.

The absentees had a paper record, and Green lost.

But on the final day, the count was solely on Direct Recording Electronics, and Green won big over an established Democratic candidate.

Funny how that works, eh?

8. Have a relative in SC who told me yesterday they sent in their absentee for Green..
I almost fell over. He's a lawyer and he said he just couldn't take DeMint any more. Said he'd vote for a horse before he'd vote for DeMint. Green might get many "protest" votes. Wouldn't it be a hoot if he came close to winning.

3. Alvin Greene

I can't figure out the deal with him but I think he has been played. He does not seem to be entirely competent. The SC Democratic Party is appallingly flaccid and incredibly incompetent.

I will vote for him proudly.

9. I'm voting Green Party
Not that either of them has a chance at winning. At least Tom Clements is competent, and he has a good, progressive platform. Greene is a kook.

14. But he has a solid plan for improving the economy of South Carolina!
"Another thing we can do for jobs is make toys of me, especially for the holidays. Little dolls. Me. Like maybe little action dolls. Me in an army uniform, air force uniform, and me in my suit. They can make toys of me and my vehicle, especially for the holidays and Christmas for the kids. That's something that would create jobs. So you see I think out of the box like that. It's not something a typical person would bring up. That's something that could happen, that makes sense. It's not a joke."

Now who could argue with that logic?:-)

AL IS YOUR PAL! Pass it on!:patriot:

7. Alvin Green
Edited on Wed Oct-27-10 02:25 PM by Botany
the man who had no campaign office, no staff, no web site, no money,
no ads, gave no speeches, and was unknown to the people of South Carolina
but he won the primary over a man w/ a 20 year plus tack record of
being out in South Carolina politics.

bottom line is "they" (Demint and company) rigged the election.

And, the results from the absentee ballots prove it.

15. Texas had a similar Democrat - his name was Gene Kelly
This guy didn't hit the campaign trail, didn't advertise, didn't run TV spots or websites, and he got enough votes to force a runoff against a competent candidate for US Senate solely because he shares a name with a famous dancer. But the real candidate finally won the runoff.

11. if I were in SC
I would eagerly vote for Greene...

although Jim DeMint has finally found something he would cut in the budget... "Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), a member of the Senate Commerce Committee which oversees the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), announced he will introduce legislation to stop taxpayer subsidies of public radio and television. CPB-funded television and radio programs are distributed through National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS)" -from his website :grr:

12. I'll vote for Nathalie Dupree,
well known chef in Charleston,SC, who threw her hat in the ring recently. There's no way I can vote for DeMint or Greene.
