President Obama Meets with Progressive Bloggers

As the clock ticks down to the midterms and the White House tries to rally the base, President Obama this afternoon is meeting with five popular progressive bloggers.

They are pictured, from left to right: Joe Sudbay of AMERICABlog, Barbara Morrill (aka BarbinMD) from DailyKos, John Amato from Crooks & Liars, Oliver Willis from OliverWillis.com, and Duncan Black aka "Atrios" from eschatonblog.

According to Sudbay -- who also writes for AMERICAblog Gay and is thus the first member of the gay media to meet with President Obama since he took office -- the meeting is scheduled to last 45 minutes, and will be followed by 15 minutes with White House senior adviser David Axelrod.

Obama has a real understanding of who the "stars" of the progressive movement are. John Amato is the only person here I have heard of. Where are Cenk Uygur, Jane Hamsher, and Glenn Greenwald? He needs to give interviews to progressives who are going to hold his feet to the fire and ask the tough questions that no one has asked him since his presidency began. I would literally sell a finger to see Obama give an interview to Cenk.

4. That's odd. I've heard of them all. And I'm not a big political

blog kind of guy. Just goes to show ya that not everyone knows the same stuff, I guess. I doubt this meeting will have much of an effect on the election, though. It probably should have been going on for the past couple of years.

10. I asked Skinner on his post about how He and Earl G.are now Re- United Again..about this.

Skinner said "paraphrase" that he doesn't like to have a presence out there in the Blogosphere for Causes.

He prefers doing this site and that's what he's about. He'd not going to be Markos or the others...he prefers to keep himself in the background.
