3. This congress, the democratically control House of Representatives
...and the Senate really need to show teeth and action against the bullies in the Bush Administration by using their power over the purse strings and bring a quick end to the Iraq War, reverse the Patriot Act provisions that have given Bush unlimited power and begin impeachment of Bush, Cheney and others. There is much work to be done and congress leaders must not permit a summer recess until the major issues are addressed and actions have begun

That's how to get their approval up.

6. You can't turn an ocean liner on a dime.
And it's going to take a whole lot longer than 5 months to change the direction of this country.

10. But you can't start to turn an ocean liner at all if ...
you never start to turn the ocean liner.

The spineless majority of Dems in Congress have not yet begun to fight -- and give evidence that they never will.

True, maybe the investigations will go someplace; but I'm having my doubts about those, too.

18. Yeah, just look at how effective these scary subpoenas have been.
Every time they issue one, the recipient basically tells them to go get bent.

24. First, one must face in the right direction
So far, Congress has been going backward. If they were getting steadily "better", I'd agree with you. But no, they are getting progressively worse. This is NOT the direction they should be heading.

8. Wow -- 5 MONTHS versus 6 YEARS
And already we have decided they suck?

Considering the YEARS of damage, and the mountains of bullshit they have to deal with daily from the repukes - I think it's unfair to judge their total job at this point. I'm not happy, but I'm also paying attention to what they are doing.

22. I'm not judging their total job
It's just that if you want change, you have to change. Simple, yes, but not easy.

And at the end of the day, you have to go home and say to your kids that you did your best, had complete integrity, stood for what is right and just in the face of adversity, and did not give in on your principles.

If you can't do those things, you shouldn't have been elected.

Yeah, because wow, we've seen how much different things are with more democrats in Washington. Mmmm hmmm. My god, is like a brand new world now that Democrats control congress and certainly not at all like BUSINESS AS FUCKING USUAL.

Things would sure be different if only that pesky Nader hadn't been a meanie weanie and let those honest, courageous, principled democrats who don't care about their career politicing and do the right thing no matter what, even when its difficult, win.... yup. I'm sure.

They are still being spineless, and they're in charge. THey never should have compromised with that chimpy asshole. They should have kept sending him the same bill until he signs it.
I'm fed up, and more terrified with every passing day.
I'm starting to think we need to start organizing more IRL so that when the internet is taken away from us, we'll still be able to plot and vent, but to each other...Or decide which corner of the camp we're going to meet in.
