The Bush Recession?

I've wondered why so often we allow the Republicans to define things and to put Democrats on the defensive.

1. It's the media
Can't do much about it when the media is run by corporations.

8. Really? Is it the media when Democratic reps let it go unchallenged?
I haven't really heard any Democrats publicly challenge the "ObamaCare" tag.

2. because whatever we put out there the media will not
repeat it nor run with it no matter how sane or correct. When the republicans put lies out there they get a lot of media play until they are repeated so much that everyone believes the lies.

4. Scott McAdams makes the point
that with all the Republican amendments to the bill and all the compromising that was done to try to get them to vote for it, it should more accurately be called Mitch McConnellcare.

6. It's the famous Bush Legacy.

They were ballyhooing Smirky's legacy just before he left office in disgrace.

Well, here we are.

7. Because FOX News is the propaganda arm of the Republican Party
Geroge Lakoff has a more intellectual take on framing, but Frank Luntz knows what will sell to his target audience. This is a problem.

9. GOPdon'tCare.
Actually, once people find out the advantages they receive from this weak imitation of a health coverage system, ObamaCare may come to be a widely-respected term.

10. OK, I just don't buy this "the media won't allow it" answer to this.
That god don't hunt. Nobody is stopping the Democratic politicians and operatives from speaking out and I don't think anyone is silencing KO, Rachael, or Ed or any of the others that I always read here that are on fire. Who is stopping any of these from challenging tags like "ObamaCare" and other ways that Republicans are allowed to define things.

12. Calling the recession the "Bush Recession" is at least as accurate as "ObamaCare".
After all, it started under Bush and was largely a result of his policies.

15. They plant disgrace and belittling by their terminology such as
"the Pelosi-this or that" or the "Obama-Reed this or that". It is all a face slam to not use their titles. It is a disgrace and disrespectful. They should be called on it.

they're recycling talking points. Look on the bright side at least republicans are recycling.
