In the unfortunate event Harry loses, who will be the next Dem Majority leader? |

1. Schumer has been said to be seeking the position actively. I heard Durbin as well.\nt |

4. I wonder if the NY senator can do what is best for the country vs what is best for NY. |

5. These two have been jockeying for it for some time ... |
|
Schumer is a bit swarmy for my tastes, he is on our team, but ... Durbin, IMO, is one of the best people in DC ... Smart, common sense, tough, will speak when he has to, but not a major camera hog, seems like a decent guy ...
Whoever it is, assuming the Ds have the majority, has to tighten things up in that chamber a lot ... I think either would be tougher than Reid has been, but I just think Durbin would be more effective and a little less likely to have things blow up ...

3. I'd prefer Durbin to Schumer just on distance from Wall Street. |
|
Chuck isn't horrible (I call him a moderate) and would be more effective than Harry but he is the Senator from the financial sector and needs to not be the face.

assuming he survives the Diebolding in his own state.
Anyone from Wall Street, Chicago, or the DLC would be the absolute wrong move.
