Stones and Glass Houses
When I was a child I was told that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. That has turned out to be a lie. The truth? If you live in a glass house you should start throwing stones and don't stop until your neighbor's house is reduced to rubble.

Take for example the claim that democrats are responsible for the deficits that added up to our present national debt. Ask anyone and probably as much as 70% will say that's true. But look at the facts. Look at the massive increases in deficits under Reagan and Bush Jr? So why do people believe the lie? The answer is simple, republicans have been throwing stones at the democrats for years and so people naturally believe the lie.

Take for example the republican claim that they are strict Constitutionalists and the democrats are activists. Again probably 70% believe that's true. Yet the current USSC which is dominated by right wingers have probably overturned an aggregate of 1,000s of years of precedent. Again, the republicans threw their stones and have kept throwing them.

Take for example that tax cuts for the wealthy stimulate the economy. Yet look at the eight years under Bush Jr. massive tax cuts for the wealthy and nothing to show for it. In fact without the unnecessary war in Iraq and the housing boom caused by Bush Jr's "ownership society" we would have been in recession for the full eight years. Yet people believe that those tax cuts worked. Again because the republicans throw them stones.

In fact when one examines the republican platform all one finds is a well orchestrated propaganda policy of throwing stones. Not one of their "near ideas" work.

3. There are 310 million citizens and some of them vote.

When at least half the voters continue to believe the lying propaganda from the republicans, what does your vote mean?

Besides, if the polls are even half correct, things are about to change for the worse.

4. I agree but...
People like Reed and Pelosi are old line politicians...they are still trying to maintain some propriety in Congress.

Remember the movie "Lord of the Flies?" When Piggie whined that he had the conch shell and so they should let him speak. They didn't let him speak and that's pretty much how the republicans want politics in America to go down.

5. I recc'd your post, my thoughts:
The examples you chose are very good ones. No question the Dems have not been effective enough at putting the blame where it goes. Obama has made some good speeches on these issues, but the Congress critters have been terrible, generally speaking. Of course there are some that have been very good.

The Dem party has to adapt quicker to the repuke tactics and get the message out more effectively. That means developing better ways to frame the message.

8. I would choose other words...
"That means developing better ways to frame the message."

I would say that as: That means developing better ways to FLAME the message.

While I understand the value of maintaining the dignity and propriety of the Capital, I feel it does little good when the republicans are determined to undermine any semblance of non-partisan government.

It is clear to me that the right wingers have catered to the ignorant and slow witted and built their power base around the weak minded in our country. If anything the democrats have stood on the side lines and allowed this to happen. Our education system once was the envy of nearly the entire world but now it's close to dead last of all the developed nations. Clearly we are not fighting against the darkness.

6. Just once I would love to see on tv "Dem senator goes balllistic"
" I have had all the fun I can stand, let's put the facts out. Reagan, Bush and Bush caused this and here is why"

But will we ever hear someone state the truth or still continue trying to meet the right a little to the right of Reagan?

9. Let's put all the republicans on a boat and ship them back to Faggle Rock.
"But will we ever hear someone state the truth or still continue trying to meet the right a little to the right of Reagan?"

Want to hear a joke? Bush Jr comes along and institutes his right wing agenda of tax cuts for the wealthy and deregulation. When it fails the republicans accuse him of being a left winger...

Yes, we need to speak out and fight back the ignorance being spread by republicans...

13. Should we make fun of the ones on the short bus?
"Repukes are more like the the odious stuff that collects in swamp sediments."

It's a timeless question, are republicans evil or just incredibly stupid? Many people have given up trying to decide and just assume it is both. Here' an excellent argument that they are only stupid:

10. Glaring...
I've come to believe the republicans are boasting about their success in destroying America.

Bush Jr and the republicans gutted the economy and then obstructed any and all attempts to fix the mess they created. Then they ran in the elections on the very bad economic conditions they created.

Where is there one democrat who yells out how it was the republicans that obstructed the jobs bill that might have helped the employment situation?
