Angle: I'll talk to press after being elected
By The Last Word Staff

Media-shy Sharron Angle promised to finally talk to the press, but only after being elected.

In a rare interview granted a conservative radio host, the Tea Party-backed Senate candidate from Nevada said she regularly dodges reporters because they don't "promote" her enough.

On the Heidi Harris Show, Angle gave the excuse, "The lamestream media or the left-leaning progressive press are really very much in Harry Reid's camp. They promote him as much as they can, and certainly that's not their intent when they come to interview me." She's currently in a tight race against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

But, Angle wants to mend relations with the annoyed press corps after being elected. "I'm hoping that as we get into this once I get elected Senator that they will be much more civil and we will have a very civil discourse," she said.

2. stupid AND arrogant won't make you ANY friends with the press dear
And when she loses she'll be begging for the press to pay attention. Odds are, even Fox will toss her under the bus. With glee.

4. The fact that she may get elected by going completely around the media...
...is extremely disturbing and worrisome.

The press is supposed to do it's job and help American's vet candidates. Angle is bat shit crazy, and may get elected by simply ignoring said vetting process. Other Tea Party/Republican candidates will adopt this strategy. Once it works, even more insane candidates will do the same thing and perhaps get elected as well.

9. Yes, she did...
..and the rise of pure propaganda media outlets like Fox News has helped them accomplish this.

It is very bad stuff indeed.

8. I agree, it's frightening. If the media can't hold these loons accountable, there is no one
left who can.

10. Yeah, this is seriously bad stuff...
...it really is very worrisome.

Once the media can no longer vet these people, there is virtually nothing to stop even the most radical politicians from rising to power.

6. Hahaaa! I thought I was reading the caption of a cartoon
when I saw the headline.

You'd think she was going to represent a constituency, the way she's asked so many nosy questions about herself...the nerve of the free (& I use that term laughingly these days) press!

Ouch. That's going to hurt her chances of joining Chrissy O'Donnell as a Faux News contributer after their losses next week.

16. Watch the popular media in Nevada roll over and piddle themselves
"Ooh, she'll talk to us civilly once she's elected! Can't wait!"

There was a time not so very long ago that there was this sort of adversarial relationship between the news media and politicians. A politician who told every newspaper, television station and radio station to bite me was asking for trouble. I don't think that's the case anymore.

18. Some have been very aggressive.
Even chasing her down. The dumb bunny just hops away. And here is a representation of why:

I suppose they could plan more ambushes. But really, anyone running for office who avoids questions should just be written off automatically. It would be the smart thing to do.
