The country is going to shit and I HELPED! |
|
Each day when I turn on the TV or listen to the radio or any broadcast about the Democrats and the voter apathy I get increasingly angry. I understand and share everyone’s frustrations and complaints about the state of the country, but I still think that there is a huge difference between where we are now and where we would have been if McCain won. I know, I know, that doesn’t make up for the deficiencies of the administration and the absolute heartbreaks of lackluster health care reform and the fact DADT is still in existence. But here is what I don’t get.
Why aren’t we working our asses off to get a 70 vote majority? If you have a Blue Dog as your Rep or Senator get someone Progressive elected! Why aren’t we all fired up to get bigger majorities? Do the Democrats just lack the discipline to keep fighting when the going gets tough? “I didn’t get what I want so I am going to take my ball and go home, punish you and the country by letting the jack booted thugs take over again. But don’t blame me for the fall out.”
This is what happened when Bush was not elected the first time. If Gore was elected there is a damn good chance 911 never would have happened, and there is a 100% chance Iraq never would have. But don’t expect the Democrat’s who didn’t vote because they “didn’t care” or “Didn’t think it made a difference” accept their share of the responsibility for Iraq or Afghanistan. Oh no! No responsibility there! They just didn’t vote. It was congress or it was the other guy who voted for the guy in congress. But NOT them.
Well if you are going to speak by not voting well good for you, but wear it proudly, and be proud of the fall out. Be proud as abortion rights are chipped away, and gay rights stagnate (at best). The Republicans go after those least able to defend themselves, and those are who I always thought we were there to represent. But fine, don’t vote, just be aware of what that represents beyond YOU and your personal issues. And if you don’t vote you own a big part of it. Your vote counts more now than ever.

4. The so-called "Librul Media" is not doing its job. |
|
Especially CNN (yes YOU John King). They KNOW the Tea Party and Sarah Palin are full of crap but they won't expose the hippocracies and challenge their radical agenda. American citizens should be outraged at CNN, local stations, even NPR and let them know. (Don't bother with Fox). If the Tea Party takes over "the media" will have blood on its hands.

6. 70 is a near impossible number. Take a peek at the states and population. |
|
Not impossible and to be strived for but there are some serious structural issues that can't be whitewashed.
About everyone here is voting so stuff the set up for hippie punching.
