I think Rove knows the GOP have jumped the shark.

"Call him old fashioned, but GOP strategist and poster child for the Republican establishment Karl Rove seems to thinks that Sarah Palin might lack the necessary "gravitas" to be the party's presidential candidate for 2012.

The former vice presidential candidate's new reality TV show, "Sarah Palin's Alaska," isn't helping, Rove told The Daily Telegraph in an interview.

"With all due candor, appearing on your own reality show on the Discovery Channel, I am not certain how that fits in the American calculus of 'that helps me see you in the Oval Office,'" Rove said.

"Being the vice-presidential nominee on the ticket is different from saying 'I want to be the person at the top of the ticket,'" Rove continued. "There are high standards that the American people have for it and they require a certain level of gravitas, and they want to look at the candidate and say 'that candidate is doing things that gives me confidence that they are up to the most demanding job in the world.'"

This is the second time in a week that Rove has appeared reluctant to provide any degree of enthusiastic support to Palin. "

You know your party has gone off the deep end when Karl Rove is trying to tone down the crazy.

1. oh, the irony
"There are high standards that the American people have for it and they require a certain level of gravitas, and they want to look at the candidate and say 'that candidate is doing things that gives me confidence that they are up to the most demanding job in the world.'"

Which dog did he handle, again?

5. It sure is. It's like watching Dr. Frankenstein's look of fear
when he realizes what he has created.

6. Well the fact is Rove may be a complete and utter asshole
but he does have a clue about what it takes to be President. And Palin is just ignorant as hell, she wouldn't last 4 years. She is totally clueless as to what it takes to be President.

7. The "Adults" Vs. The "Chidlren"
Get ready for fun as the teabaggers find out they've been pwned by the party elite and the ensuing fight should be both long overdue and amusing to watch. Should the GOTB have the big gains the pundits are hoping for, who gets the credit? Rover and his billions in Koch money or the "populists" who will turn the beltway into a real circus. Many of the teabag candidates won despite Rover and there's a bunch of bad blood building. They aren't interested, like Rover, to rewrite the boooosh legacy. And if they don't succede then the knives will come out on both sides as to who "blew it". Either way, the teabag monster will rip that corrupt and inept party in pieces going into 2012. Rover wants to be the kingmaker...doesn't like Mooselini moving in on his turf.

12. Sarah's already put the GOP on notice.
She said that if they don't go along with the Tea Party, it'll be the end of the republicans. I, for one, believe her. The unhinged have the upper hand, and I have no doubt they'd be happy to kick the repubs to the curb, along with the rest of us. They have no intention of compromising with anyone.

14. And That's Where The Fun Is...
Mooselini is trying to play both ends against the middle. She's not a "true" teabagger...just an opportunist who has been annointed the queen by the "lamestream media". You're not seeing her that prominent on the campaign circuit right now cause she's too establishment for most teabaggers and too rogue for the establishment.

The real teabag hero is Ron Paul...in fact many teabaggers were Paulbots. Then there are the fundies who will go with Hucklenutz and there's rumblings DeMint will let his oversized ego go wild. The knives will be out early and often...with the big money right now lining up behind Mittens. Overall, the party is loaded with flawed candidates.

You are right...the most rabid teabaggers will be major pains in the ass. But there'll be a good share who will smell the money and power inside the beltway. It'll be interesting to see how quickly and cheaply they sell out.

Cheers...

16. the GOP base seems to put up with being pwned better than we do
the progressive based is out-of-step with the WH message, you wouldn't see that under rethug rule. I think all these teabaggers would vanish if the GOP wins a majority and/or the presidency.

Their outrage is most definitely contrived, in my opinion.

I love that they spent eight years feeding the damned RW Beast with fear and now they are forced to eat the Beast. Choke on it, you fuckers -- you created it, you deserve it.

13. Criminal Karl fears Palin and her Tea Baggers because
he would have a problem controling them if they get into power. He wants to pull all the strings and she represents someone who is quite prepared to *go Rogue*. Bush was a complacent puppet, souless Sarah is a whole *nother* ballgame.
