Colbert Takes On The Rand Paul-Supporting Head Stomper
Stephen Colbert kicked things off on the "Report" last night by addressing the shocking video unearthed this week of a Rand Paul supporter literally stomping the head of a MoveOn.org activist.

The incident, which happened outside of a Kentucky debate Monday night, had colbert "praising" the assailants for protecting Rand Paul from the 115-pound activist.

"Two men had the courage to throw her to the ground and hold her down, while a third hero stomped on her melon," Colbert reported, adding that it "was her own fault" for not knowing Tea Party rally protocol.

"Everyone knows that if you don't want someone to step on your face at a tea party rally, you carry a flag that says 'Don't tread on me,'" he said.

3. Probably. I doubt they pick up on any of the sarcasm or nuance.

4. Of course.
Didn't he just say that if she didn't want to get stomped on, she should have been carrying their banner? Excellent advice from their POV.

5. I just took a walk and saw a house...
...with a giant Don't Tread On Me flag flying along with the Stars & Stripes. Those people are so creepy!

10. Keep in mind, though, they co-opted that flag. Some people may still fly it for
other reasons, like association with the Marine Corps. (My late grandfather was a Marine and he had one.)

12. It pisses me off.
Don't tread on me was always one of my favorite slogans. I just adored that flag. And now they've made it dirty.

(link) -- right down to using his interview as the basis of a defense fund.

And I understand that he's FINALLY going on trial!

9. Too funny, both the clip and the use of it as a defense!
It'll be interesting to see what happens at trial.

7. But why does the HuffPo blogger think the video was "unearthed"?
The word "unearthed" links to a Sam Stein post at HuffPo from late on Monday which begins, "An ugly scene took place outside the Kentucky Senatorial debate Monday night." The rest of the story makes it very clear that this was breaking news from just a few hours earlier.

So why would the second blogger refer to "the shocking video unearthed this week," as though it was something that had happened months ago and only just been revealed? Seems like somebody wasn't paying very close attention.

Maybe they should make it into an armband for convenience and portability. Might I also suggest changing and updating some of the colors on it, I think yellow is rather old world and tends to blend too much. They could be using colors like red and black as they really stand out a lot more.

Yes I am sort of joking, but these guys are acting like rather slow and tubby versions of the SA.
